… after yesterday’s challenging finish to the walk we started this day with some trepidation. We left Zubiri in rain but with the promise of clearer skies as we headed to Pamplona.
Along with the traditional way markers of shells and yellow arrows (sometimes a little more discrete than one would like), there are those marks from previous pilgrims that are more challenging. Long walks allow for contemplation of such questions.
Today’s challenge was the lack of cafes and places selling food. Being early in the season not everything is open and siesta adds to the problem later in the day. By the end of the long cafe-less day we did not enjoy the long walk along the city streets of Pamplona to get to the old city and our stop for the day.
