… here in Spain we are appreciated. Not by cheers and not by everyone but regularly we get a “Buen Camino” from a local. It is hard not to repeat the phrase back to them (aren’t we all on a journey?) but a friendly “Gracias” is now habit.
I also appreciate the symbols of our journey that we pass. At the top of Alto De Perdon there is a large wrought iron sculpture depicting pilgrims. I have seen it so many times that to see is in person, to touch it, to capture my own image of it was moving.
It was also at this time that the hail started, soon to be replaced by a torrential rain showers, then sun. Our day from Pamplona to Puente La Reina was not without emotion or variety.
